This lab is offered to provide you with the opportunity to get hands-on, practical experience in the application of the WHMA-A-620 standard. 

You will be exposed to a variety of industry standard crimping tools and assembly aids while testing your knowledge of crimp and wire harness acceptability through hands-on lab projects.

Course Content

  • Wire stripping and tinning
  • Splicing wires
  • Crimping single and double wires using a wide variety of crimp types (open and closed barrel crimps, machined crimps, solder cup terminations)
  • Crimp acceptability and strength
  • Coaxial and RJ type cables and connectors
  • Connectorization and wire dress of cable assemblies
  • Dimensional, mechanical and electrical testing

Students leave with several completed projects and valuable knowledge to help them apply the standard in their working environment.
