Selecting a CIT Candidate

Choose your CIT candidates wisely, and ask a few of the right questions: 1) Is your CIT candidate comfortable in front of a group of people, 2) Have they ever taught a class before, 3) Can they handle class room conflict well, 4) Can they take criticism well, 5) IPC Policy recommends 1 year actual instructor experience before CIT certification.

Course Content

• Printed board product classifications and acceptance criteria
• Base material surface and subsurface conditions, such as measling/crazing
• Solder resist coverage over conductors and registration to lands
• Conductor width & spacing and annular ring requirements
• Dielectric material criteria for etchback, voids and resin recession
• Plated-through hole requirements for copper plating thickness, voids, nodules and cracks
• Acceptance criteria for flexible, rigid-flex and metal core printed boards
• Skills for effectively teaching the lesson plan

Materials Included

Upon successful completion of the certification course, you will receive a full set of instructor materials:

• Certificate of Completion
• IPC-A-600H standard
• IPC-6012 (The latest version will always be provided)
• Instructor guide for training application specialists
• CD for training application specialists (includes course visuals and printable files with training handouts, exam answer sheets and keys, evaluation and reporting forms)
• Written exam kit for certifying application specialists (15 each open/closed book tests with instructor's copies)
• IPC-A-600G sample board (the same sample board is used for both the Revision G and H courses)
• * There is no student handbook for Revision H training

* If you are taking a recertification course, new materials will not be distributed.  Certification and recertification materials are received upon the completion of the certification course.
