Needing to know how to solder depends on which of our trainings you want to take. 

The following classes do NOT require previous soldering knowledge:

• IPC-A-600
• IPC-A-610
• IPC-A-620
• 7711/7721

The following classes do require you know how to solder:

• J-STD-001

If you need to acquire a J-STD-001 Certification and do not know how to solder, we offer 1 or 2-day solder training classes to teach you the basics of proper soldering.

Depending on class size, we have the ability of going to your site.  You can also come to one of our all-inclusive sites, located in Los Alamitos, CA or Vancouver, WA.

You can send a few people at a time, therefore decreasing the impact to the production and manufacturing floor. 

We will work with your company to ensure that all students' travel and hotel accomodations are taken care of.

Depending on what training site you are attending, please contact Luke to verify that your/your company's arrangements are finalized.

Re-certification: Recap to any updates/revisions within the training

                              Usually 1/2 the price

                               Usually 1/2 the training time as certifications

                               Necessary to obtain every 2 years

* a 90-day extension may be granted to recertify 90 days before OR after the certification's original expiration date.

"IPC" is the "Association Connecting Electronics Industries."  They provide an internationally-accepted standard for the electronics and manufacturing industries.

Course length depends on which course you are taking. 

Here are the lengths of each of our classes, including CIS and CIT:

• IPC-A-610 CIS: 3 days for full certification; 1.5 days for recertification
• IPC-A-610 CIT: 4 days for full certification; 1.5 days for recertification

• IPC-A-620 CIS: 3 days for full certification; 1.5 days for recertification
• IPC-A-620 CIT: 4 days for full certification; 1.5 days for recert

• J-STD-001 CIS: 5 days for full certification; 2 days for recert
• J-STD-001 CIT: 5 days for full certification; 2 days for recert

• 7711/7721 CIS: 5, 10-hour days for full certification; 2, 8-hour days for recertification
• 7711/7721 CIT: 5, 8-hour days for full certification; 2, 8-hour days for recertification

• IPC-A-600 CIS: 2 - 3 days for full certification; 1 - 1.5 days for recertification
• IPC-A-600 CIT: 3 days for full certification; 1.5 - 2 days for recertification
