IPC J-STD-001 Certification

The J-STD-001 Certification teaches students about the materials, processes and standards for verifying the manufacturing of high quality soldered interconnections. In this course, students learn the internationally recognized standards (joint industry standards) of manufacturing printed circuit boards (pcb's). This revision includes lead-free standards.

  • CIT level certification is an engineering level course designed to allow the successful candidate to certify individuals in their company to the J-STD CIS level

  • Students must pass both exams and soldering in order to successfully complete this program.

  • The program is divided into 5 one-day modules, each covering a different area of soldered electronics assemblies. Students may be trained in any combination of modules that includes module 1

  • The standard emphasises process control and sets industry-consensus requirements for a broad range of electronic products

Space Addendum

  • Addendum provides additional requirements over those published in IPC J-STD-001 to ensure the reliability of soldered electrical and electronic assemblies that must survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments experienced while traveling and operating in space.
